Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce dealer buys Pinecrest mansion with giant chess board for record $10M (Photos)

Thomas A. Moorehead, who owns Lamborghini, McLaren and Rolls-Royce dealerships in the Washington, D.C. area, paid $9.8 million for a mansion in Pinecrest.

It was a record price for a home in Pinecrest, according to the selling broker, Elena Bluntzer of One Sotheby’s International Realty. That shows how demand from wealthy out-of-state buyers is driving up prices in premium neighborhoods, as Pinecrest is known for good schools and lush landscaping.
